"Two of Us" is a song by English singer and songwriter Louis Tomlinson, released as a single on 7 March 2019. It is his first release on Arista Records after signing with the label in early 2019.
The song is about his late mother, Johanna Deakin. In an interview about the song, Louis said "She would have loved it, she was a fan of ballads, ’My mum wasn’t about feeling sorry for herself. Again that’s what gives me pride and comfort singing the chorus. It feels really liberating. … just had to bite the bullet and f***ing do it. I knew I needed to write this song, but I was a bit scared of it. … It was something I needed to get off my chest. I used to lean on my mum for a lot of things – anytime I needed advice on something she would be the first call I made. … I’m not at the stage in my grief where I’m going to open the first verse and burst into tears … I don’t want people to get caught up in the sadness of it, the song should be hopeful"
